MicroAlgae and Cyanobacteria Culture Collection (TAU-MAC) was created by Dr. Spyros Gkelis and it is maintained in CyanoLab (Department of Botany, School of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki).
This Culture Collection contains strains isolated from freshwaters, hot-springs and marine sites of Greece and aims to contribute in the biodiversity knowledge on microalgae.
Currently about 100 strains (mainly cyanobacteria and green algae) are maintained, however Cyanolab is on the process of isolating algae from different environments.
TAU-MAC is included in the Global Catalogue of Microorganisms database and you can access it here

Our database hosts, information and data such as morphology/morphometry, biogeography, phylogeny, microphotographs, distribution maps, toxicology and biochemical traits of the strains. All this data are structured managed, and presented online and are publicly accessible with “Scratchpads”, a taxon-centric virtual research environment allowing browsing the taxonomic classification and retrieving various kinds of relevant information for each taxon.
You can access the TAU-MAC culture collection website in Scratchpads here
